We're pleased to announce our partnership with the Mechanical Copyright Protection Society (MCPS), as part of its enhanced operating model designed to strengthen services and create new opportunities for its members.
From early 2027, we'll provide automated sync licensing services through MAIA Universe for MCPS members who have mandated their synchronisation (sync) rights to the MCPS, helping connect their music with opportunities across advertising, film, social content and video games.
Making sync licensing simpler and more accessible
Sync licensing creates opportunities for songwriters, composers and music publishers to earn revenue when their music is used alongside visual content. However, the traditional licensing process can involve lengthy negotiations, multiple parties and complex rights clearance.
Through our partnership with the MCPS we aim to streamline this process through our proprietary technology, connecting select MCPS members music with brands, agencies, filmmakers, social media agencies and game developers looking for high calibre human made music.
Launching in 2027
MCPS will begin with a pilot in early 2027, ahead of a wider rollout later in the year. Participation will be optional for members and the MCPS will continue to provide direct sync licensing services for repertoire not made available through the platform.
"MAIA Universe are proud to be partnering with MCPS on their enhanced operating model. The team is looking forward to working in harness with ICE, IMRO and PRS to drive sync opportunities and revenue for songwriters." - David Wille - CEO
